if i get my MD from canada, am i an IMG???

yes..but im not sure..as far as i know - a canadian md is valid only in the canadian state from where u have got it and not in da us..a us licensed doc can practise in canada with a few formalities - better ask it direct to some pro like bbb though

Seriously, if you get your MD degree in Canada you aren't considered an IMG:
Fromg the ECFMG Web site: "ECFMG and its organizational members define an international medical graduate as a physician who received
his / her basic medical degree or qualification from a medical school located outside the United States and Canada*."

what i'm really concerned abt is...will this affect my residency match? would i be somewhere below an US grad , a slight advantage over IMGs in the order?

yes, I have seen Canadian grads as chief residents! Canadians are treated equal to US grads
