they interfere with DNA synthesis by reverse transcriptase (they cause chain termination due to slightly different structure than that of real nucleosides) 1.zidovudine 2.dideoxycytidine 3.dideoxyinosine 4.lamivudine 5.stavudine and 2 extra ones: 6.abacavir and 7.tenofovir

I think we should add some major Side effects of some. I'll start, zidovudine causes megaloblastin anemia, and ddI can cause pancreatitis.

Great Alina!!- For this particular category the nomenclature is different ususally because of 3 letters. The 1st Zidovudine-AZT as said didanosine-DDI Zalcitabine------DDC Stavudine------ D4T Lamivudine-----3TC I dont have the last 2/ also peripheral neuropathy is a common significant side effect ..
