hi all! i just learned of my step 2 ck result today and it's 97/240!!! i couldn't believe it!!! so now i'm going to give my 2 cents worth on the matter. i've benefited a lot from this site and it's high time that i do give something back! study materials: kaplan books question pool used: 1. entire qbook 2. 1/4 of kaplan qbank questions 3. more than half of USMLEworld questions 4. about 600 questions from the USMLEasy (which i was able access for free sometime in may) i started preparing for step 2 ck way back in may. however at the time, it was hard for me to study seriously because of too many distractions at home. so basically i was able to sneak only 3-5 hours a day of study for the next 6 months. after the CS exam in august, i did the USMLEworld questions and some kaplan qbank q's. however because of time constraints, i wasn't able to finish the two qbanks and i wasn't able to re-read the kaplan books. my grades: kaplan qbook - 74% usmle world - ranged from 57% - 80% (but most of my scores were in the mid 60's) kaplan qbank - 58%-76% if there's one take home message that i'd like to share to everyone it is: ANSWER AS MANY QUESTIONS AS YOU CAN. i should know this because my step 1 grade wasn't as good as my step 2 ck and now i know what made the difference. so to all of you out there who's trying to read and read books without even bothering to answer q's, STOP. i think most of the time people already have enough stock knowledge, it's just a matter of organizing ur thoughts, recalling the facts and getting familiar with the question style. you will only be able to do this through answering questions! so there, i hope this post will help as many people as it can. i owe this site for helping me get that score.
