Do I need to memorize each amino acids for USMLE?I mean the shape.

i think its much easier to remember their structure, when studying the aminoacids metabolism. its not hard at all - try to make sentences that you can easily remember using the first letter of each aminoacid. it helped a lot in my case. i think you need to know the branched aminoacids, the degradation products, which have a cycle in the molecule or the reactive groups in the side chains (an isoelectic point question for example) and it will help you understand their metabolism much better.
