Vit B12= ileum this needs intrinsic factor which is produced by parietal cells of the stomach. Iron is absorbed in is Fe2+ form in the duadenum and uppr jejunum circulates bound to transferrin then taken to the liver and from there to the bone marrow for synthesis of hemoglobin. Folate is duadenum and uppr jejunum. It is present in fresh vegetables. It has to be supplemented in pregnacy. It is deficient in chronic alcoholism.
