Maybe its the choice of hospitals that makes a lot of difference... my partner..ahs 83,88 & applied for 30 Paeds programs.. & she already got 4 intervews..would have been 5 but one fo them didnt accept IMGs for my speaciality.. so she did not go for the intervioew.. so in reality... 5 interviews.. 4-5 rejections... so pick your hospitals properly...

I am just wondering whats wrong with my application  < i know my scores are not in 90's but even then other things looks ok to me , got just few rejections and for others ,when i call them ,they say we haven't reviewed your application . Is not being ecfmg certified bothering them or what ?Was I late in applying ? I started in early Oct though. God only knows ........ But on my side i.e west coast they start in december ,so got little hope Just trying to keep on working and garnishing my application with externships now.I donot need any visa though . I remember one song of backstreet boys ](*,) that fits my situation...

My suggestion is not to limit yourself to one speciality but to explore chances with variety of programs. According to some residency coordinators some years are more competitive than others with certain specialties. For instance this year Psych and Anesth is hot and FP and OB is less competitive.

Hi...To all my friends , don't loose hope. This is my story. I'm IMG got 75 step 1 (1st attempt both) 83 in step 2. Took CSE last week. I got 8 interviews. Applying for PEDS. I only went to one, it was GOOD nothing to be afraid of. The rest of them are in Dec and Jan. I know from a lot of students there are many possibilities. If you don't match, you still have the SCRAMBLE, if you don't scramble we still look for open positions though out the year. Look into SCUT WORK.com and look for all the possition not filled during the previous years, this will give the idea of where to apply or the many chances you stiil have after the MAtch. One thing as my big advice if you don't match because of what ever reason DO SOMETHING IN THE MEDICAL FIELD, volunnteer in a hospital, work as Medical Assitant in a clinic and the field of your preference. Do observership, research INCREASE YOUR CURRICULUM . I work at a hospital assisting some doctors. This gave me the chance of recommendations and to know people. GOOD LUCK!!!!

my scores are so low, i don't want to post them!!! but remember, you passed, right? i have 2 interviews so far and more to come.. just be persistent, but not annoying.. i contacted a program coordinator before i applied to the program, then contacted her again a few weeks after.. just have great phone skills, and they may pull your file and review it right there and then..
