i'm looking for a good review text for both cardio and renal. they are consistently my lowest scoring topic areas and i'd like to just sit down and read a book (pathology? pathophysiology?) to try to solidify my general understanding. any suggestions?

Read the corresponding sections in Basic Pathology (Cotran, Robbins & Kumar). It's not the mini-robbins, it's the middle robbins. In fact, if you have time, read all the "big" sections in that book. The whole book is quite small- for a text book and when compared to the big robbins. What a behemoth. Tiger.

Hi kellysmith, I highly recommend the STARS series for Physiology by Linda S. Costanzo. It's very thorough in covering the funtions of the kidney and heart. For pathology, I recommend reading through the corresponding chapters in Robbin's Pathologic Basis of Disease, ed 6. Additional practice questions for physiology are found in another review book by Costanzo called Physiology Case Reviews. Hope this helps. pinkangel
