infectious mononucleosis is EB virus infection of B cells but the cells predominate in a blood film will be reactive T cell, CD8+. why? all the B cells are killed?

  #2

because CD-8 T-cells are reacting in the viral infection. Hence, though B-cells are infected, they are APC-professional, so they can present the viron in context of MHC-I and stimulate immune system. Hence T-Cell predominate in response.
Here is a question for a scholar... :-)
If CD-8 respond and kill off the infected b-cells... why people are infected with EBV for life?

all cells in body are APC...but only several types are professional APC that can choose, MHC I or II.

right. thanks for the cd8 explanation.
but for the APC and professional APC part, i need do more study. never heard of prefessional APC. and for APC, as i remember, they include b cell, macrophage and dendritic cells instead of all the cells in the body as you mentioned. :?:
