M cells-microfold cells, located b/w enterocytes, they overlie Pyer's patches, and are basically involved in passing antiges to lymphoid aggregates, to stimulate immune system. Also involved in IgA transport to surface. Typhi has special receptors for some protein on the surface and inside the cell on lateral walls, so it invades, but then atacks laterally killing off the enterocytes, and not being trasported all the way across to lymphoid tissue.
