Hi deals!
I only read the kaplan 2002 edition.Nothing was added to the books. The books were not used by some one else and nothing was added to them. What is written in thse books plus lots of Qs from good q bank sources is more than enuff for this exam.
GOODLUCK!

  #30

How was it monica? your step 1?

  #31

hi son64 !
today i gone through all the postsjust 1 month left,it was very informative for me& very encouraging also. thanx son64.
I am appearing in dec. last week in delhi. i am also appearing for step 2 first, as u did. i have read only 5 kaplan books, kap q book & kap mock exam ques.
Can u please tell me that in exam. ECG or MRI,x-ray,CT film based questions were there or not :?:
Is there any need to do harrison pre-test ques.? :|

I dont know what will happen ? doc once again thank u so much. & best of luck for step1.

  #32

hi,
how can we get these harrison pretest questions and when r they advised to do?

  #33

Hi ravi-online:
The kaplan books are good enuff for your review.
You will get some ECGs and imaging on your exam. Most of them can be figured out from the history and physical findings given. But they might want you to just look at an EKG and say "this is AF,VT,atrial flutter etc....So it is better to know the common EKGS.And also looking at some common images before the exam will help you, atleast it won't hurt you.
I know nothing about the harrison's pretest Qs you mentioned cose I didnt do them.I think any Q source is good but try to do Qs that are more examlike like the Kaplan q bank and UW.

Polkos:
I dont know how to get the harrison pretest Qs.But you can search at the ebay. And you can just google it and that might take you to where you can get those stuff.

WHAT YOU GOING TO DO WITH YOUR STUDY MATERIALS?
MY E-MAIL: lpylypko@yahoo.com
THANKS.

Congratulations Son64 on your great acheviment.
I have given step1 2 weeks ago, still anxious about my result. Anyway, I have bought all the blackwell series for step 2 as I heard not so good remarks about kaplan step 2 stuff , but you proved them wrong. So now I am more confused as to what I should do. I do plan to take as many resourses of q's as possible, but would definately like to decide on what core review books to read first. Would appreciate your advise. Thanks

GREAT SCORE!!!!
YOU DID VERY GOOD.
CONGRATULATIONS.
I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU IF YOU DON'T MIND.
DO YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEN KAPLAN BOOKS AND LECTURE NOTES?
WHICH ONES DID YOU USE?
DO YOU WANT TO GIVE THEM AWAY FOR SOMETHING?
THANKS.
LET ME KNOW, PLEASE.
GOOD LUCK.

  #49

thanks for you post man.... you simplified preparation a lot for me. One question, if your an img, and you already graduated... how were you in the clinical side as compared to the basic sciences. It took a lot of confidence to do step 2 before step one, and that must have come from a good clinical background.

Hi Son64,

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I failed Step 2 three times, and finally managed to pass with a 206/84 this time.

Since you did so super, I was wondering if you had heard any great advice for Step 3, or had advice for improving my score on the multiple-choice portion? Thanks!
