Hi everybody,
Could you give me some tips on how can I pass the exam with minumum score by least amount of reading. I am an IMG and a resident (PGY-4) in Canada and I just need to have ECFMG certificate to be able to seat for American board exam. I don't have time for siting and reading everyday for months. All I can do is to seat for couple of weeks and study and hope for score 75 to pass. What would be your suggestion to me? What should I read? Just doing Step-1 tests is enough? Any tips would be appretiated.

But,my questions are -->
why are you so worried about passing this exam in PGY-4 ?Didn't you try for this before clinical rotaion or in Canada ,different rules apply?
If you are already doing residency there why you need to pass USMLE now.?You said to sit for American board exam ??
Maybe I am not aware of your situations where you ONLY NEED TO PASS this exam because to have ECFMG certificate ?American board examas?As far as I know IMGs have to do hard work to get good scores in order to get good residencies. After finishing resid.,they need to give exam to pass American Board ?USMLE is required to get residency ( for IMGs)...right?
Anyway,I think you are fresh student..don't worry about any prep. just seat for couple of weeks ,you will pass [-o<

hi adam,
i guess no one will be able to give the exact schedule or method to pass the exam coz its an individual thing .
i would suggest u go through the exam experiences and FA book to find out the sources which suit u best.

there is a 6 weeks shedule for step 1 covering all subjects

and u pass ur exam not with just 75 but flying colour like say above 90
