A 62yo man presents with chills, fever,dysuria,urinary frequency,diffuse low back pain,and an xquisitely tender prostate on rectal exam.The insurgical intern on the ward, tried to do a rectal exam twice, to confirm the diagnosis and search for any other additional findings. PERRRFECT AGAIN ap mle.......... SEPTIC SHOCK............is the answer........ NEVER TRY TO BIOPSY OR DO MULTIPLE/REPEATED EXAMINATIONS IN PATIENT SUSPICIOUS OF ACUTE PROSTATITIS...........IT CAN TRIGGER SEPTIC SHOCK!!!!!!!!!!
