Apply as much program as your wallet lets . This is the only way to get interviews. Even US graduates apply more than 20 to guarentee 8-10 interviews. Good luck.

Look, being an FMG is an enourmous black mark on your application for most programs (those that get enough US grad applicants). Good scores won't ensure an interview. I was told in interviews that FMG's tend to preform worse than US students on the wards even if they know everything in their head. So they like to see USCE. They said you should write that in your ERAS application somewhere (I didn't because there is no section for it). I was also suprised by the PD's knowledge of Indian med schools. He knew the top 5 or so by name and said he really wouldn't interview someone from a lesser known program even if they got 99/99. And he said he knew that most FMGs take off 1-2 years to study. So he doesn't take their high scores so seriously. Other not so competitive programs, however, will look at your score more than anything else.

To retro viridae: That thing of not paying attention to a high score from an IMG is far from being fair. The time allotted for each question is less than 1 minute, and if English is not your native language, you are competing against the clock in what is really a test of reading comprehension, working memory and speed- AGAINST PEOPLE WHOSE FIRST LANGUAGE IS ENGLISH. I know you do not endorse that, you just say what you've heard. Then, please, give FMG some credit! I want to see Americans competing in German or any other foreign language and getting placed in a Gauss curve with the natives, as they do with us.

I hear you Esmerelda, but I am just telling you what I hear. That's how program directors think (at least some of them).

if there's any possible way you can work in the US, do it..many programs don't consider you if you have no US experience, regardless of your scores..my scores are not nearly as high as yours, yet i have some interviews..also, apply to more programs..
