Most program coordinators that I know about are only using email for notifications. It's built into ERAS and easy to use. Make certain that your invites might not be sent to your bulk mail box because ERAS is a bulk mailer and your email might be putting the invites in the wrong place. (And no, I don't know how to do this - I know that it's set up through your email provider )

That is going to vary from program to program - impossible to give a generic answer.
