Hi there,
I'm an eloquent Australian IMG with usmle scores of 238/96 and 233/94, research experience and great references. I've applied to top tier orthopedic programs such as Johns Hopkins and Harvard. I'm well presented and good in interviews. Realistically speaking, do I have a decent shot at matching? (I only applied to 15 top tier programs).

Orthopod, I would apply to other non-top-tier US prgorams. It is very tough for US grads to get, much less FMGs. But remember, you are from Australia. It does make a difference.

What makes you think orthopod is white? He/she may or may not be. Are all American residents white??? US programs trust other Western countries medical education system more than developing nations. I don't know if that is right or not (one prorgam director told me Thailand had a good system where as India's depended on the school) I don't know. I think he felt that way because he had been to Thailand and not to India.
