indications for CT before L.P in suspected meningitis cases
1)meningitis with s/s of severe altered mentation or confusion,or papilloedema,or focal neuro defifits.
2)Always in AIDS pt .
If any one knows any other indications plz add,

in general U have to be on the safe side from getting the patient brain herniating, so look for S/S of ICP-HTN, and order CT if you suspected brain mass.
