I am currently doing an observership in a prestigious hospital in PA. One of the attendings there offered me a physicians assistant or a research project to do while I am here.

My question is ... with a B1/B2 VISA... can I do a phy assistant job? Dont think so.. but worth a try..

How about some audit/clinical project . As long as I am not paid..will it be ok? Any help will be most appreciated.

Are you allowed to work on a B1/B2 visa? Don't Physician Assistants have to be licensed in order to work with patients?

Thanks for the quick reply.

yes..so I guess physicians assistant is out.

How about the clinical project..something like an audit /case report ? Currently I just hang around the wards, clinics attending consults from other specialities. Would it be illegal to look up some patients data or write up some interesting case or do a presentation of some of the work I have done in UK?

I need to reply to this attending fairly soon, so need help sooner rather than later. Many thanks in advance. A VISA lawyer would be tooo expensive to ask sad
