I am in the same boat. I applied to couple of select programs and waiting for the call. My advice is - 1.Try to get USCE, US LORs while you prepare for your USMLE. 2. Get CME credits. Some programs expects more than 150+ hrs of CME for older graduates. 3. Build a network, especially with people close to program. 4. Clear your USMLE at first attempt with attractive scores. Remember, you have two years ( as per your posting). So, make use of it in a way that shows that you are current with US clinical settings. Good luck!

hey ppl. don't loose hope. U " R" DOCTORS!!! u may encounter hardships but u "will" get somewhere. I've gotten interviews even though it's my 5th year out of medical school. when u research programs when u r applying they'll tell u whether they consider the year of graduation. One more thing try to get really good scores and work here in states to get USCE (us clinical experience).....u'll be in good shape.....don't quit. Good luck
