Cloning of a new eukaryotic gene was followed by insertion and ligation of the gene in an expression vector. The protein translated from this gene was then studied on a western blot, and probed with 32P-DNA, yielding a positive result. These findings eliminate which of the following substances as a candidate for the likely gene product? A. CREB B. Protein kinase A C. RNA polymerase D. SP-1 E. Steroid receptor

My choice is Protein Kianse A If you are probing for a protein using a DNA probe, then the protein should be a DNA binding protein. Protein Kinase A is the only one that doesen't bind to DNA.

if the probe yields a +ve result, ,that means that the protein is a DNA binding protein. rite but in the question the given protein gave +ve result with DNA so it should be a DNA binding prot. isnt it?
