Can someone describe in detail the 1st half of the urea cycle?

perhaps not in detail but a bit in short... assuming that first half refers to the part occuring in mitochondria... ammonium ion and bicarb in the presence of 2 ATPs combine to for carbamoyl PO4, catalyzed by carbamoyl PHO4 synthetase I. Then ornithine transcarbamoylase adds ornithine to carbamoyl PO4 to form citrulline that leave mitochondria t enter cytoplasm

not bcoz of TIME, rather bcoz question was asking for 1st part only ok here is the rest of it: in the cytoplasm, Asp is added to citrulline yielding argininosuccinate catalyzed by argininosuccinate synthetase. during this reaction ATP is broken down into AMP & PPi.. Nxt, argininosuccinate lyase breaks down the argininosuccinate releasing fumarate and producing Arginine that is broken down by arginase to yield urea and ornithine (which goes to mitochondria to be used again)
