Hi ... I applied to the internal medicine prog of UT southwestern Dallas- and I got a rejection...I thought it was me..but i found out all of my IMG friends were getting rejected...anyways..I went to their website and I found out that they have not taken a single IMG/FMG in the last 3 years.....so I guess it doesnt make sense applying there... However, I may be wrong abt this....check out for yourself!..

Yep me too. Rejected without them even receiving my completed application. And I am a US citizen! Like I say to myself, their loss! OK, maybe that's sour grapes.

i didnt applied to it. I was under impression that they dont sponsor H1. I guess this means i saved myself few more $s. Dont worry guys, we all are in the same boat. Even i received 2 of my rejections even before my usmle transcripts were uploaded. I guess they didn't liked my face in the photo i sent them )

Just as a note, what I try to do it look at programs that list their current residents, and see if they have had any IMGs in recent memory. If not, even if they say they do take IMGs (on paper at least), chances are very very slim. I really would have liked to have lived in Seattle or Denver, but the good programs there don't take IMGs. So I didn't even bother applying. Then again, I do remember at least 1 IMG at UT Southwestern. I think he/she was an MD/PhD. Probably did their PhD at UT SW. Good way to get into the prestigious programs, by the way, if you have 5 years to spare

I agree retroviridae, I have friends who are IMG's ,doing residency here in Seattle .From what I have heard is we have to wait for atleast year or two ,to get into it .Iam holding a job in its related hospital ,they say there r slim chances. But majority times my luck gives me hand ,so decided to apply everywhere apart from seattle.I love to live in seattle not because its beautiful and hot spot for earning more ,but for my parents. Lets see ,its a game @ turtles speed.
