hey guys... btw C4 and C5 vertebra the cranial nerve which emerges is?... is'nt it C4 i mean i always thot tht the nerve emerges below tehvertebra but one of teh questions answerd C5 ????

1) Its the spinal portion of CN.-XI the ventral horn of segments C1 toC6 2)Between two vertebra the nerve is the same# as the more caudal #. 3)C5 is also a root of the Brachial plexus.

so u mean to say its always the caudal numbered spinal nerve tht arises btw 2 vertebrae?

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but the cervical vertebrae are exceptions in that the C1 nerve starts above the C1 vertebra, so the one below a cervical vertebra would be the next higher number. Between C7 and T1 is the C8 nerve, but for all the rest after that it is the same number, so T4 exits after T4, for example.
