About the status letter, if one's undergraduate clinical clerkships aren't equivalent to the California requirements as stated by the medical board od CA, how would I solve this? Since I can't do clerkships after I've graduated. Would completing a residency or internship somewhere else in the U.S. make it easier to obtain the status letter? Or am "banned" from CA bc of the clerkships part?? I go to an accredited European school.
And do FMG:s have to complete a family medicine clerkship or observership for CA?

One more thing, I've heard that a lot of FMG:s do research at a U.S. university while awaiting certification. Is it hard to get such a position (for someone with very little research experience) and how do you go about?
