Can any body please help me with it? For a male patient to examine heart/ant. chest, I know that we can expose the full chest by moving the gown down to his belly so head, neck, both shoulders, ant chest is exposed..BUT WHAT ABOUT WOMEN? Can we do the same? How about checking the precordial thrills with the base/palm of our hand on a female patient? since by doing this we are almost pressing againt their breasts? Appreciate your help folks Fat Goiter

Sp's will cooperate with you ,no need to remove the gown ,just loosen it and examine .In case of PMI , ask them to lifet their breast and they will do so. Donot forget to drape the rest of the body while examining a particular system.

But just loosing wouldn' expose it to full? plus it will take more time then pulling the whole thing down? It's just so confusing. Thanks a lot for your help Asmi

I will certainly not ask them to remove their bra but I might ask to pull their gown down while in a sitting postion to expose their chest for CVS and RSP exams. Thanks Asmi
