Mind Matters
The most important part of you is your mind (not your brain - the brain is the hardware and the mind creates the software). Care for your mind, make friends with it, always feed it healthy food, engage it in positive activity, exercise it with knowledge and wisdom. Like a garden returns fragrance and beauty according to the care invested, so your mind will repay you with thoughts, ideas and visions of great beauty when tended and invested with care. Your mind is not made of matter but it does matter what you give it and what you create with it. Where your mind goes, you go. What your mind creates becomes your destiny.

That is very nice.
Let me share my views of mind body and soul
Imagine yourself as onion.
Each peel of onion reflects one aspect of your life.
Outermost shows your senses, your speech, your anger.love.hate, frustration(when I`m gonna get PG1yr position), your attachement and your attitude for life in general.

2nd peel is your mind. how you control your emotions in adversity.(oh good I`m freakin` out , my step 2 is only 3 days away, Idon`t know what to do.). Controlling your thoughts can be such a daunting task.

3rd peel is your intelligence. How much you really know, not about step1 or 2 but life in general. Forget even the life lady, how much about yourself. Why you are sometimes happy for no apparent reason and why just for few brief moments ( I`ll say nano seconds ) that you feel connected to this universe, to God. Why you feel so powerful sometime and so weak, jittery, anxious and stressed most of the time.

4th peel is your Soul. This is your brief connection (nano seconds) which
makes you connected. gives you happiness( I`m sure as will getting a 1st year position at John Hopkins ).

thats how I view life. nothing can take away your happiness if you stay tuned to youself.

Hi,

The Lord Buddha preached on the cultivation of mind and practicing kindness. I totally agree with you as a Buddhist. Thanks for sharing.
