Suppression Intentionally avoiding thinking about disturbing problems, wishes, feelings or experiences. Projection Falsely attributing one's own feelings, impulses or thoughts to another person. Regression Thoughts or actions that are typical of earlier life stages, such as infancy or childhood. Denial Refusal to acknowledge some aspect of reality or personal experience. Resistant ? Repression ?

this is a voluntary exclusion of information on part of the patient, which is evidenced by changing the topics when asked the relevant questions.
