I hope that some of you can give me advice of what to do now... My husband is a researcher on J1 visa and he applied for the waiver based on no objection. On the datasheet he indicated, that he got financial fund from either the US or his own government, but actually that is not true. He still has to submit his IAP-documents and the personal statement, should/can he make a correction in the statement? The IAPs clearly indicate that the program is supported by the university. I cannot apply for a residency if he doesn't get the waiver  thanks

Hi, I'm not sure if I fully understand your question, but if you come here on J1 to do research, I don't think that you can switch for residency later on the same visa. But I'm unfortunately not a visa expert, my situation is a little bit different. You should ask other people they might know it better! Good luck, Popi
