i would start with thickness of peptidoglycan layer, teichoic acid, outer lip membrane, periplasmic space...............................

Gram +: Cell wall consisting of a thick layer of peptidoglycan with many pentaglycine bridges Techoic acid in the cell wall Purple with Gram stain Gram -: Cell wall consisting of periplasmic space Thin layer of peptidoglycan with fewer crosslinks Outer membrane bilayer Inner layer of phospholipid Outer layer with lipopolysaccharide/LPS/endotoxin Porins and transport proteins span the outer membrane Pink with Gram stain
