I am posting these queries about my IMG friend who is applying for paediatric residency 2005.
Credit86/80/76/passed CSA,No USCE/Good LOR's from British referees/No publications/passed out MBBS 1997 currently working in the UK in paediatrcis.
1)What are the chances that he will make it to a good (Doesnt have to be only a University hospital)hospital in the US?
2)He has applied mostly in the mid-west and south(about 60 applications)Hasent applied in the North-east esp NY,NJ.How many applications should he apply to on an average?
3)He has uploaded most of his documents to ERAS and the programmes have recieved them too but his deans letter and photographs have not yet been uploaded though he has sent them 2 weeks back.Does this have a bearing on his application?
4)He is particular about joining a hospital on H1.Does it really matter or should he join a say reputed hospital even if they offer only J1 visa?
5)He has kept about 40 more places as a reserve to apply later.Now what time will he be looking at before he decides that he has to apply for these remaining places?
I know these are quite a few queries but it would be helpful if someone could help him out
