In Fluid & electrolytes chapter....at some places they have calculated preillness wt(x) by the formula

x/wt at admission=100/90

and at other places x/wt at admission=100/85...

Why is it??

mild dehydration x/weight=100/95
moderate dehydration x/weight=100/90
severe dehydration x/weight=100/85

thta is because mild dehydration is 5% wt loss...moderate one is 10% wt loss...n severe one is 15% wt loss so accordingly it is
x/wt on admission=100/95 --for mild

x/wt on admission=100/90---for moderate

x/wt on admission=100/85--for severe
