what is the most common cause of convulsions in gastoenteritis
a. hyponatremia
b. hypernatremia

hypernatremia ..i guess becos hypotonic fluid loss..


only if replaced only with water then hyponatremia results as with sweating :roll:

Hyponatremia I guess too but I dont know why.

It's hypoNa........... becuase kids lose HYPERTONIC salt solution, adults lose relativly HYPOTONIC salt solution in diarrhea!
That's why! :|

hyponatraemia . . . .

(my reasoning = or else why would people with diarrhoea be given electrolytes???? such as oral rehydration preprations which are full of salts, a mojority of which is Na )
