the nbme is a sort of practice exam set forward by the same people who write the usmle. They have 2 exams, A and B. Each cost $45 and involve 4 blocks of 50qs each. No answers are provided but they give a score breakdown at the end that visually simulate the real score breakdown. It is suggested that you take these not too long before the exam as the correlation to your real score is supposed to be uncanny. I certainly hope this is the case, i scored a 630 two weeks before on the more difficult second block.

hi, i am interested in using NBME self assessment test as well. and i have one question confused me. from the nbme website, it says there are two formats. 200 mcq each. but is the 200 mcq in both formats are the same questions? is it just different between timing as either standard-paced and self-paced? so do i just need to purchase one? could anybody answer me this question? thanks a lot in advance.

Two different forms are completely different questions with the general consensus that the second is harder than the first
