an asymptomatic 50 yr old pt presents with hypertension discovered during a routine physical exam. urinanalysis shows a trace of protein. WOF investigations would you order as a part of your initial workup
a. IVP
b. plasma noradrenaline
c. abd CT
d. ECG
e. 24-hr urinary protein

trace protein in urine can be normal.... HT whose duration not known...do ECG first as a basic investigation

three main tests for diagnosis of HT:
ECG,blood chemistry,urinanalysis

24hr.urine protein will not be test of choice before initial workup

I have to agree with asr and noni.. 50 yr old with first time HTN and initial workup .. ECG .
