this is a paed's question, bear with me 13 yr old boy with height of 9 yrs old. which one will support a good prognosis for further growth of the child? a. Bone age of 13 yrs b. bone age of 9 yrs

this is one of this unique conditions in which the decreased bone age would be beneficial to the child. since it means that there is a delay of 3-4yrs in bone growth ,and this would give the bone the chance to catch up with the actual age of the child. hence beneficial

but wont decreased bone age indicate vit d def or hypothyroidism. ! or malnutrition

that's the point, all these conditions are reversible. had it been that the bone age was at par with the chronological age, then it would mean genetically short stature
