DKA » Regular Insulin IV blous 10U followed by 0.1 U/Kg/Hour till correcting the anion gap. Glycemia should decrease at a rate of 150mg/hour Corect the K and P deficit. Ad Dextrose when glicemia is less than 300mg. When anion gap is corrected switch to subcutan administration but keep 30 more mim the drip till subcutan Insulin starts its action. Non DKA » Regular + NPH Insulin Subcutan 0.50-0.75 U/Kg/Day 2/3 of the total dose on mornings and 1/3 in the evenings 2/3 of the morning dose is NPH, the rest is Regular 1/2 or 2/3 of the evening done is NPH, the rest is regular Comments welcomed!
