Match each management priority with each of the following penetrating abdominal injury patients' conditions. Patient's Conditions: I. Pulseless, major vascular injury II. Hemodynamically unstable, solid organ injury with hemorrhage from other sites. III. Hemodynamically normal, hollow viscus injury Management priority: A. Identify presence of gastrointestinal, diaphragmatic or retroperitoneal injury. B. Emergency laparatomy. C. Identify & control hemorrhage.

I. Pulseless, major vascular injury First resuscitate pt. - give iv fluids / blood if necessary; if this fails, add drugs to increase BP. Actually follow ABCs of trauma. Once stabilized, proceed with emergent laparotomy. II. Hemodynamically unstable, solid organ injury with hemorrhage from other sites. C. Again, reuscitate first, search for the bleeding source next. III. Hemodynamically normal, hollow viscus injury A, of course. :lol:
