I am doing questions and noticed that step 2 questions dont have graphs or pictures, u/s, CT etc as we had in step 1 questions. Would the real exam be like that or do I need to look some gross or microscopic patho slides etc. I think U/S and MRI and ECG would be in the exam but what about web path for medicine questions??

Hi, Go to family practice.com . There's 39 Q w/ pictures & EKG's. It helps. I find it easy after reviewing Boards & Wards & First Aid.
Thanks Tuesday I checked this site it is good and would be helpful in exam.

somkeey,
Just don't worry at all about slides ,they will be very easy to indentify, even you don't have to consider the slides sometimes, since the Q will be easy/straightforward.
Concentrate on theory and EKG's(FA) ,CT/MRI brain(high yield anatomy). Don't worry about other Xrays..they will be easy to identify.

hi, want to know ur differentials.. i'll apreciate ur comments & thoughts about this. my Dad'sleft knee is swollen since yest. i checked his l knee this am & it was fine, no swelling or anything but w/ pain. He has a hx. of arthritis. he takes Vioxx 50mg qd. At 9am this am he said it's hard for him to walk bec. of pain so in addition to his Vioxx I said for him to take Motrin also in between, he just took i tab(400 mg). then he exercised, just walking for 30 mins. after dinner tonight i noticed that he had a hard time getting up, when I checked his knee it is SWOLLEN, like a grapefruit. I was thinking it could be a flare up of his OA. What do u guys think? Any supportive measures before he sees his doctor tomorrow? By the way he's a healthy 79y/o no prob. except for this off & on unilateral knee pain. Comments Pls.

Hi tuesday,
You should consult a doctor as soon as possible. If pain is not yet contolled, you can take him to ER.
Rest is important for pain reduction. He is already taking vioxx 50-mg, once a day, I hope his pain will get better with it.
But consult a doctor as soon as possible, meanwhile give rest, painkiller and support!
May he get well soon!

Hi, Thanks all 4 ur input. We went to my Dad's doctor & said it's gouty arthritis(Has hx. of this also). Advised to take 50mg of Vioxx qd, elevate affected leg & completely avoid high purine diets like anchovies (which we had a day before flare up & beans (which we had for almost 2 days bec. instead of me cooking my Dad & I were just eating mainly leftover for lunch. He said I don't have to cook for the 2 of us since i'm reviewing(now I feel guilty). Anyways, the swelling went down a little but still w/ 10/10 pain. Hopefully tonightafter taking the 2nd dose of Vioxx he would feel better. I found out that he was just taking 25mg qd for the fast 3 days. He will be fine & thanks for ur concerns. Appreciate it. Okay good luck to ur studies.
