I am 2001 IMG doing PhD
Exam date April 3
Score reported Apr 25 and score received Apr 30th.
Prep time 6 months off and on.
UW 62% overall (last block night before exam 73%)
USMLE CD 36 (1 month) / 36 (10 days) / 42 (night before exam)
NBME 1 (7 days before exam) 490 correlates with score 215
CK score 240/97
Impression: NBME gives a fair idea to find your weaknesses. However, there is a lot of room for imprevement given that you have taken NBME a few days before the exam. For this reason, do not consider NBME score as your final score.

Kaplan Q bank score: 80% (Mostly did random blocks of 50 questions)
USMLE CD: 94% (only first block; 2 days before the test)

Obstetrics/Gyn, Psychiatry: Blueprints

total time for preparation: 3 months, first USMLE exam

FA, USMLE Step 2 secrets; my own cards, which I made during preparation with the online Qbanks
UW: 64% ( finished the whole thing, did it first, ranged from 55 to 75%)
Kaplan Qbank: 70% (finished the whole thing, did it after UW)
NBME: did not do it
exam date: April 14th 2007
OASIS update: May 3rd
Score: 99/247, letter came on May 5th

used kaplan notes, UW, crush, FA
didnt do NBME, kap Qbook, Kap Qbank.
UW score 57% 45 days before exam.
Usmle cd 1 week before exam 36/37/39

1997 graduate
Prep time: 4 months, full time 5 days/week
Materials: Kap notes and FA, qbook, UW qbank
Read Kap notes only once, qbook once, UW twice, took notes and read own notes 3 times
NO VIDEOs, NO AUDIOs
UW first time 60%
NBME1 490 2 months before, NBME 2 610 1 month before.
Had many family issues during preparation that affected my performance, could not sleep 3 days before test date.
My advice for comming test takers: sleep well before the exam date.

kaplan simulated 74
kaplan q book range was from 58 to 92 %
kaplan q bank 76
usmle mock exams 74%
usmle world didnt do
nmbe didnt do

usmle cd 39,41,40
resources included kaplan books, videos, and usmle secrets and first aid.
dont like my score hoping to get high 90 but happy with the fact that i
passed with first attempt. exam is very hard. wish you guys all

took it on 5/4/07....
study sources....kaplan lecture notes, UW, q bank, crush/secrets, blue print(1 read only)
Total prep time 6 months but was working along with it & real study in the last 2 months.
Kaplan q bank...66% after 1st read ...all timed & random.
USMLE CD.....88%
nbme 2 ...6 weeks b4 exam...390...had to delay & worked my head off in the last 6 weeks....but din't take any other NBME
UW...63%(afer 2nd read)....75% with last read...all timed & random
USMLE SCORE 94/224

I got My score:
99/263. It feels so great.
My UW mean: 66%. (I did just 50% of Q, 1 mo before exam).
Kaplan Q Book: 70% or so.
Kplan Simulated: 74%. 3 weeks before the exam.
Time of preparation: 5 months, I used kaplan lectures, kaplan books, and first aid just for the topics that I found weak on the simulated.

found this thread very helpful for judging how i was doing, so i wanted to contribute
step 2 real: 246

usmle free cd: 41,42,38
after finishing medicine rotation, took a week vacation, then studied 3 wks. mostly concentrated on boards and wards, skimming blueprints peds and blueprints ob for anything not in B&W, didn't review medicine much since it was recent, mostly UW to review, last week mostly concentrated on Step 2 Secrets. Step 2 Secrets and UW are musts.

I was in bad shape the day of the test. I slept very little the night before and I think that has a huge impact on the performance. Thank God my Step2CK > 240/ 97

Step Score 251/99.( exam date 5th June)
Prep Time 3 Months.
UW- 65% first time, 85 second time.
USMLE CD 40,42,42.
Kaplan Highlight lectures ( Found them extremely Useful)
didnt do Kaplan DVD,s,
Kaplan simulated 74%
Kaplan 22 block CD - 78%
Total 3 revisions of kaplan notes and 2 revisions of UW.
Didnt Do NBME.
I found exam to be extremely tough ( more difficult that UW).
I will strongly advise you to take a full night sleep and go fresh as it definitely improves your performence.

Step 2CK passed. Here's my breakdown from learning materials done prior to the exam...
Step 2 CD from USMLE (Taken week before exam):
Test 1 - 41
Test 2 - 40
Test 3 - 39
Usmle World: Finished with a 62%. The best way to take these tests is to do blocks of 46 qu's on timed mode. That way you get used to the pressure of reading/ thinking with limited time.
My initial tests on UW were only 45%. The questions on this website are DEFINITELY harder than the actual exam. My last set of tests were approx 65%.
I recommend checking out the USMLE score estimator at: http://www.medfriends.org/step2_estimator/index.h...
This gives a pretty close estimate as to how you'll score in the exam.
My Exam score was:
232/94
(Guess I needed to keep my feet in even colder water to hit those 99's....next time!!).

NBME 1-600(2 WEEKS BFR EXAM)
NBME 3-420(3 WEEKS BFR EXAM)
-my inference dont trust NBME,i tried it thinking i'd gain some selfconfidence,but had to make byself hard after it.
my score 231/94.
i wrote my preperation in my journal.

Finally! I'm a foreign student, still working on my final year.
Took CK: June 28, 2007
Score Reported: July 25. 2007
Score: 215/87
Kaplan Qbank: 75%
UW: 59%
Did Kaplan videos and books, followed by First Aid. Did all of Kaplan's Qbank, and then did all of UW World (once each). That's it. Spent about four months studying "full-time" (with a two-year old and a newborn I had many interruptions). Step 1 Score was 83. Found the exam to be difficult, but not as horrendous as Step 1. Had enough time to finish each block, but not to linger over any questions. Had lots of psych questions. I actually liked Kaplan's Qbank, and am glad I did it first followed by the more difficult UW. Next: CS!
