Here's some CVS questions for you folks:

1)what causes cyanosis of toes but the upper limbs don't have cyanosis?

2)what causes cyanosis of upper limbs but lower limbs are fine?

  #6

*** cyanosis of toes but the upper limbs don't have cyanosis ..... i think this occur in differential cyanosis as in PDA with reversed shunt ...

*** cyanosis of upper limbs but lower limbs are fine... Reversed differential cyanosis (upper body cyanosis with normal lower body saturation) may occur with transposition of the great arteries, PDA, and pulmonary hypertension resulting in right-to-left ductal shunting.

Hi shawky,
You got the first part of the question right.
The answer for the second part,I was specifically looking for takayasu's actually.

Hi Malysian ........
i am very sure about my answer ... as i studied it and found it in many textbooks ....

but about Takayasu arteritis ... i searched and didnt find it as a cause of reversed differential cyanosis or containing a sign of blue hands and healthy feet .....

so what is your source for this information and the underlying mechanism .....
