The injury is usually a contusion or laceration injury to brain, most likely be a berry aneurysm at circle of Willis. key words: worst headache of my life. stiff neck, decreased mentation

so the answer should be head trauma and not berry aneurysm if both options are there thanks

subdural and epidural hemorrage are caused by head trauma, while subarachnoid is caused by rupture of a berry aneurysm this most likely related to polycystic kidney dx. subdural=rupture of bridging veins epidural= rupture of middle meningeal artery

Also epidural hematoma, would results in feeling fine at first and then after a couple of hours, losing consciousness, and possibly going into a coma, which is not seen with subdural, whose effects takes a while to develop.
