Could someone list the cardiopulmonary changes in pregnancy? With explanations for each would be very helpful.

Any input is appreciated

Physiologic changes of pregnancy induce a state of relative hypercoagulability-------- Pregnancy is associated with a decrease in protein S; increases in factors I, VII, VIII, and X; and progressive resistance to protein C activity

cardiac phys and pregnancy:
-cardiac output increase 50% (increase HR and SV)
-because of increased flow, increased S2 split with inspiration, distended neck veins, systolic ejection murmur and S3 gallop are normal findings
-decreased peripheral vascular resistance due to progesterone-mediated smooth muscle relaxation
-BP decreases during first 24 wks of pregnancy with gradual return to nonpregnant levles by term
pulmonary phys and pregnancy:
-4 cm elevation of diaphragm due to expanding uterus
-tidal volume and minute volume increased 30-40%
-functional residual capacity and residual volumen decreased by 20%
-hyperventilation: increased PO2, decreased PCO2
-RR, VC, inspiratory reserve do not change
