Can anyone let me know what is loss of heterozygosity?

Thanks

Is it related to the autosomal dominant disease...say the "good" gene mutation occurs so that the dominant disease can be expressed? It is also called "two-hit model". Please correct me if I am wrong.

Taking a tumor suppressor mutation as an example, generally the child gets one mutated tumor suppressor gene from one of his/her parents (heterozygous). Given that the other, healthy, copy can produce protein to prevent tumor formation, this child is fine. However, this healthy gene some times also gets mutated (loss of heterozygosity), no gene that can be expressed to prevent tumor...the child starts to develop tumor cells.
