Does usmle score realy has to be taken every 7 year?I know that it has that validity period , but it looks very weird that for exemple doctors who are at the and of their carier have to go for it ?

Once you have taken the USMLE tests, and you have received your ECFMG certificate, and you enter residency, you will have your ECFMG certificate validated indefinately. So you won't need to renew those tests after you start residency.

What happens if you do not join residency 7 years after issuing ECFMG Certificate.Is ECFMG certificate is still valid for residency programmes.
