Parkinson Disease is when parkinson syndrome regards to idiopatical, I mean primerly. The triad of parkinson consists of three major findings; Tremor, bradikinesia, rigidity....We can also count flexion postur as a late finding.

My understanding is that parkinson's disease is when the dopamine is low whereas parkinsonism is parkinson like characteristics.

I agree with drmka Parkinson's disease = paralysis agitans = he cause is unknown ... There is degeneration of the pigmented cells of the substantia nigra leading to defeciency of dopamine in the brain Parkinsonism = there is a known cause that leads to defeciency of dopamine in the brain but without structural changes in the substantia nigra or basal ganglia (eg: postencephalitic parkinsonism )
