 picmonic good for micro?

i hear that picmonic is effective for micro but don't want to inundate self with resources. has anyone used it/have thoguhts?

I had to look up what Picmonic was. I found the list of cards here:

Med techs don't learn about microbiology in this manner, so I would be loathe to say whether this would work, as I don't know what questions you have on your exams.

We learn bacteria by groups. Gram negatives are split by the oxidase reaction. The oxidase negative ones tend to be enterics, although not all are. The oxidase positive gram negs tend to be all non-glucose fermenters.

Gram positive cocci are split by the catalase reaction. Catalase positive are in the Staphylococcal group; catalase negative in the streptococcal group.

Getting flash cards for individual bacteria may help you if you group the cards by bacterial type. I don't know what info is on the cards.
