first 24 hrs-nausea, vom, diaphresis 24-48- feel btr, labs still ok 48-72- feel ok, LFT start to peak post 72- either resolve or succumb give Mucomyst w/in 8 hrs of ingestion, once start must complete 17 doses. 100mg/kg IV in 1000ml usually run the infusion .

N-acetylcysteine is useful only the first 24 hrs, after that period you shouldn´t give it to your patient. Rest of the clinical syndrome is well described by mdwannabe. After 2-3 days it can resolves or progress to liver failure (hepatic pain, jaundice, etc.)

thats why I suggested to start N-acet W/IN 8 hours of injestion.
