I dont know the ans. This Q came in our exam.

If you're suspecting ABO incomp wouldnt you check the blood gp of the father first?

Practically I think we do retic count first to confirm hemolysis.

Pls explain!
Thanks

ABO - it's impossible with mother's O group
Rh conflict is impossible with mother's Rh+

It's physiology jaundice and we need to see response of bone marrow on hemolysis.
May be I wrong please correct me.

w/in 24 hrs of life means its pathological.
ABO is possible b/c if the mother had been previously exposed to blood gp A or B antigens, then she would have developed antibodies against them.

l don`t know the ans but the mother is rh positive is not abo incompatibility
may be c

  #11

even though it's remotely possible for ABO incompatibility, still, for a newborn the first blood test that you do is for bloodtyping.

  #12

SBR is the first thing to measure.

If SBR < 340 ==> mother's blood group

If SBR > 340 ==> admit NNU

  #13

edit: mother's and baby's blood group

So ans. is A
