Hi guys,
I've heard of so many sites and people offering Live Kaplan or some other Lecture videos for sale.. Are any of these authentic and worthwhile??
I mean, how can these guys sell this sort of stuff freely? Isn't it illegal?
And most of this stuff is really cheap?? That casts even more doubts on its authenticity and quality??
Has any of u ever had any experience with this sort of stuff?

Well... I have seen Live Kaplan Audio lectures for sale. Yes... I think it's illegal and that's why they are very cheap. A lot have been very expert when it comes to technology now.
How can they sell it freely???
-I guess it's because there are those who buy it freely.
Why do they sell it?
- because they paid thousands and hundreds of dollars to enroll in class... so that maybe, selling copies of it will help them get back some money.
IT'S ECONOMICS.
Are they worthwhile?
-a lot of those who posted their exam experiences in this forum said they used those audios and videos for review and they got a high score. Maybe they are. I don't know because what I got are my books and the home study kit from Kaplan. I haven't taken my Step 1 yet.
Are they authentic?
- Did you mean as in authentic like are those the real lecturers from the review center?
- I think so. Because if they will get actors to do that... then the CD will be a bit more expensive. They must have been able to escaped recording it and making copies of it and selling it.

By authentic, I meant are these guys really selling something or is this only some sort of a trick....

I know someone who ordered it and what they gave was some low quality stuff and he was upset and could not get a refund.......I would advice you to stay away from such ads.

If you want high quality stuffs and you can afford them anyway... yes, you should stay away from those lecture audios. I suggest the Kapaln webprep and the Q banks. If you really got the $$, the live lectures should be considered.
If you don't have $$$, and you still want to try those audio lectures... be careful w/ your transactions. Try to find out more about the seller.
One exampe is the webprep. It costs $749 in Kaplan. Then in some sites... you can get it for as low as $10 to $15 for a webprep in a CD. Well, fellow doctors... we are all intelligent enough to understand that we will get a much much better or should I say the BEST QUALITY of webprep from Kaplan than a very cheap CD.
Honestly, I'd rather work part-time while I study and save my $$ to enroll in Kaplan webprep than to buy its $15 CD. But that's just me. I respect those people who will buy the weprep CD. They have their reasons.
