Can you guys explain me something?
Most people score on USMLEWORLD on average 10-15% less than on the Q-bank. Currently I'm scoring 74% on USMLEWORLD and 77% on Kaplan Q-bank, so the difference is only 3%. Is it because most people study from Kaplan books and Kaplan questions are taken from Kaplan books, so it is easier for those people to achive better scores on Q-bank? I'm studying from Blueprints and CMDT. :roll:

Hi m&k,
sorry can't tell u the diff. about the qbank & usmle world yet. I just learned about the latter fr. this site. Qbank , i think are a very good set of questions quite similar to the actual test. i'm preparing for the test by next mo. When are u taking it & how long have you been studying.
I have read BP but not CMDT.

your question is interesting... but there are 2 questions left open that can modify your statistics. first, do you take the test in the same condition on both sites (ie. timed mode for 46 ques')? second how many quest' have you done so far in each site?

Of course I always take tests at the same conditions, means timed mode for 46 questions. To date I have done 50% questions in USMLEWORLD and 45% questions in Q-bank. So almost no difference.

maybe the hard staff of USMLEWORLD is ahead and the easy part of qBANK as well. my guess is youre just doing well. all the best from israel. smiling face

Ya you are right m and k.I used kaplan books and get 80 on their q bank.But I averaged to 73 on usmle world.The Qs on kaplan seem to be taken directly from the book,especially surgery.
I was answering some of the QS by just reading the first sentence.
When you read a 62yr old man of nerwogian ancestory what comes to your mind is duputuyrens contracture even without reading the symptoms and signs given cos it is written that way in their book too.
So I will not rely on my q bank scores.
But how good is a usmleworld average score of 73 for a person taking the exam in 3 weeks????
Is that enough?????

I think you are doing excellent. Is enough to achive 95+ score on the test having results like that, even if your exam would be tomorrow. All the best on your exam!
How long have you been studying? Are you an IMG?

I have been studying for the last 5 monthes.I was studying part time while working.
