All through my USMLE journey, I have read different posts here and these positive words have helped me to go on.
But today I seriously need some advice, I didn't match for Neurology for third time and this is truly very disappointing.
My problem is I don't get enough IV calls.
My Credentials are 219/220/CS pass- all first attempt,
Step 3:195 (2nd attempt)
YOG- 2008 and I need visa for residency.
Done US Observerships 6 months+ at top places in US in neuro related fields.
worked in home country for 8 months in Neurology (not a residency program)
Still when I apply, I dont get interview calls from programs.
I know the attempt in step 3 works against me, but I cant change it.
I dont know what I must do to make myself an excellent candidate...or infact should I even keep trying now???
Friends, Please advise and help...
Me too did not match. 219, 220, cs 3rd, 226, 5 months of elective rotation, 1.5 years of bench researchin a reputed univ, 2011grad. This was my 2nd match.
I understand Neurology is getting really competitive...
Friends, if you are someone with similar situation or you have known anyone who faced similar situation and managed to get into Neurology.
Please share your valuable thoughts. It will be really helpful for us.
